[Open] When You Do Nice Things
🧙 WHO: Naomi Kimishima and You
⚔️️ WHAT: Helping clear up the Forest of the Felled and curing people... as usual. Catch-all for November
🕒 WHEN: All throughout November until Event
🗺️ WHERE: Forest of the Felled and Camelot
⚠️ WARNINGS: In the Forest of the Felled, but insomniac healer. However, may be warnings depending on thread directions so will update as they come.
[As the forest was, there shouldn't be any issues clearing it out, but someone apparently ticked the Naiads off and now, there was a basilisk. At least it wasn't like the serpent she'd always heard about, but having some allies paralyzed would not do.]
[Still, a flower that hadn't been seen for years being the cure? And not to mention, these traps...]
Why did they set this one up?
[Hadn't the main issue with the Forest been spirits? None of these would hold the creatures that had become a problem. Whoever had set off this net she was stuck in at the moment was getting a look from her direction. She should've stayed at the hospital...]
[When she first saw the creature upon the chest of another sleeping nearby, she wasn't sure what she was seeing. However, the conscious effort of their apparent attack on the person does process - enough that she'll borrow a companion's weapon (whatever it may be) and attack it, knocking it off without much hesitation.]
[But whatever it was doing had already started. As she's not a cognitive mage, she cannot do anything, but she could confront the demon.]
Try to wake them. I'll hold it off.
[Another month, a coming season, and it was about that time a yearly disease should come around. It really was thanks to her world that Naomi didn't catch many common maladies, but this Magical Flu had other problematic factors that weren't from catching it.]
[At a knock, she looked over at the door.]
Enter slowly... but if you're about to sneeze, do so before you enter.
[And let's not destroy her office space on accident with some leaking magic.]
[OOC: Any prompts you're interested in threading with Naomi that aren't here? Hit me up at
demidemonLove. She's not an active quest taker since she has a job, but she can be dragged into them like the quest with the fear gorta, butterflying lettuce, and even the gancanagh (she's an adult, it's all good).]

I. A Cure on Cloud Nine

II. Paralysis, Paralysis, and Paralysis Again

III. General Clinic (but it's Magical Flu Season)
[Another month, a coming season, and it was about that time a yearly disease should come around. It really was thanks to her world that Naomi didn't catch many common maladies, but this Magical Flu had other problematic factors that weren't from catching it.]

IV. Wildcard

III, vague-backdated to early nov?
[ In steps a man who's dressed as if he's just stepped out of an ancient fantasy-greece fresco, but without all the life and levity behind one. His head lifts slightly in formal greeting. The courtesy of acknowledging her with a nod does nothing to soften his grim mien. ]
Sure
Good afternoon. What brings you in today?
no subject
Are you able to detect physical ailments as caused by bloodmagic?
no subject
I can... and so long as there's no cursed side ailments tied to it, I can treat it.
no subject
I am yet unware of any. [ Cursed side ailments, that is.
But with that said, he takes a seat within the physician's office, looking very much out of place, out of time. Somnus himself, though, doesn't appear any bit uncomfortable. He is as calm and grim as ever. ] How do you say... [ His hand waves, casual as if trying to conjure up a term he's never used before: ] ...a "check up"? After practicing with a bloodmage, on the bloodmage's request to ensure no side-effects have occurred.
no subject
[Again, another nod at his inquiry. How out of place he appears doesn't matter if he intends on being a patient... though, she might think about a few things later.]
I can give you a check-up to put their mind at ease. Did they say anything in particular concerned them? Perhaps cross-contamination due to blood usage? [That mainly comes to mind. If a blood mage user of one time were to cut another individual of a different typing, what would that reaction be? She figured most kept their blood usage in a solid state, but were they to shift it into a liquid...]
no subject
[ By any other's standards, one would think being open with their physician would be the best course of action.
For Somnus as a client in particular, it seems more details are a scarcity. He finishes with this: ] Assess for ischemia, if nothing else. I care only to assuage their concerns to continue to spar.
no subject
[Yes, that could cause do concern. She'll make note of that among others and move closer to him while she does so (she's keeping them professional for now).]
Are you still experiencing any symptoms that you would've felt during this training exercise? Chest pain? Dizziness? Shortness of breath? [Depending on how the blood was moved around, it would give her a place to start her examination and check the functionality of the organs in that area.]
no subject
All acute malaise has worn. [ Aside from being dead in his own world. But that doesn't count here. ] This is merely a formality. [ Although he doesn't say it, there's a undercurrent of something close to an apology in his tone for wasting her time. ]
Neither am I experiencing any symptoms for this... magical plague.
no subject
Good to know. The last thing you would want to be doing is sparring with the chance of accidentally casting magic without meaning to do so. Or passing it onto whom you're working with...
[And the blood mage he'd been working with wouldn't want that either. Honestly, sneezing and accidentally manipulating their or another person's blood? No, that would be two patients for her.]
no subject
However, there's a slight-- very slight-- cant of his head, now that they're on the topic of the magical flu rather than anything about himself. ]
What do you make of it, Physician? The witch-plague.
no subject
[Setting aside her notes, she looks at him.]
I'll have to touch you for a moment to work. Are you alright with that?
no subject
Do as you will.
no subject
... Eve mentioned your extremities were cooler, but considering it was your blood being manipulated, that's a matter of your circulation returning to normal and the colder weather. And it doesn't appear as if any organs have been compromised or weakened.
All-in-all, you're fine.
no subject
Very well.
If that is all, I shall take my leave.
no subject
One moment... Alright, you can go.
Should anything else come up, don't hesitate to come back.
