Animal Magic:

[Kyo is used to it. That doesn't mean he is thrilled about it, but at least the whole turning into a cat thing is familiar. He's just. Not necessarily quite able to control it yet. And that frustrates him, given at least back home he was more or less able to figure control of it with just. Knowing to avoid getting hugged by girls. Or staying home if he was sick. Here, it's not quite that simple. Unfortunately.

Which is why some people may find him as a little ginger cat. Probably not looking the most pleased. Kyo sulks as he tries to find some small side street or something to hide behind to then try change back and get home. There's no collar, but he will have a possibly familiar bracelet of white and red beads at one of his paws. Assume he's a stray and try take him to a shelter or something given the lack of a collar? Try pick him up ask around if anyone was missing a cat after taking him home not realizing? Try coax him with pets and some food? Follow him and see where he's going? What is a cat doing wearing a bracelet anyway?]

Fizzy:

[Well, it isn't like he's not used to carbonated drinks back home. But Kyo isn't exactly expecting the results when he tries this stuff. He starts as his feet begin to lift from the floor, from the ground. He's used to heights. Being up high. That's not the issue. What is is that he's not able to control this. That's what has him uneasy. Where usually he can easily climb up or down a tree or roof of a building, this? He can't. He just keeps rising higher.]

Wha -- ?

[Kyo has his secrets still. Even from Tohru still at this point. So depending on what he might blurt out it might be something he.....really isn't ready to share. Let alone possibly with whoever else is there at the time.]

Tattoos:

[Kyo's not necessarily considered the idea before. Mostly because he's still sixteen but also. Well. It isn't like he has really given much thought on the future. Given his likely fate in being locked away. But at the same time. If he were to get one. He's pretty sure nothing would change his feelings for Tohru by now. They're there. In spite of his guilt and regret over what happened with Kyoko. So he goes for a riceball. Just a small one. At his wrist just above the beads where they usually sit. He probably won't broach explaining himself unless someone asked. In which case he would just say someone once said people often couldn't see their own good qualities because it's like they're on someone's back, like a riceball. Or some such. He wouldn't necessarily outright admit that it's Tohru but. It's not like he's all that subtle on his feelings. He just hasn't outright said anything to her. Yet.]

[ Someone is making kissy sounds into that mysterious dark of a back alley. ] Pspsps—! Hey, kitty-cat!

[ Sasara saw that ginger ball of fur disappear into hiding. This, though, it works for they stay cat hanging around his house, back home, and even here for his familiar. That that one's an animal mage...? It doesn't even cross his mind as he crouches down. ]

Ya wanna come out? [ He's offering his hand, palm up. ]

[Kyo's ears stand up a little more at the noise, at this guy trying to coax him out. He's not evidently so thrilled with the kissy noises. So he remains put at that. Almost seeming to turn away before he notes the movement in that hand being offered.

Should he? Kyo can't be sure what this guy might do. What he might have in mind in dealing with finding a random supposed cat. What if he ends up taking Kyo back home to find his owner or a shelter or something in assuming he's a stray? So he's tentative. Unsure in how to respond to this exactly. Because he probably shouldn't just respond by hissing and scratching the guy when he's just trying to help....

So he tilts his head, shaking it a little before tentatively, briefly putting a paw at the other's much bigger hand.]

[ Sasara's trying for kitty friendship here, nothing suspicious! For the moment that little guy turns away the noise he makes only gets louder, like that'll help. Well, it does...and the paw in his palm, that's too cute! ]

Heh! [ He moves his hand up and down just a little. ] Shake on it?

[ On what... Hmph, he doesn't have a lot in storage for a little stray cat, ya know. Though, one can see he's thinking. Not that his bakeneko overly appreciates it, but Sasara thinks he's got a grasp on what a little cat wants. He starts going through one of his jacket pockets. Something rustles in there, makes just a little noise.

Taking it out, he rolls it between his fingers right in front of the kitten. ] Ya wanna play with it? [ It's an empty candy wrapper...

...Sasara seems to be neither about to stuff that cat in a carrier, nor particularly helpful. ]

[Kyo glances up at Sasara confusedly. Mostly because. What exactly are they shaking on? He hadn't agreed to anything? And he can't, exactly. Not as a cat. Not like this. He's not even tried actually talking like this and. Well, he doesn't want to freak this guy out? Not that he's entirely sure how to deal with this if he can't talk to tell him to just get Kyo to Tohru and she would know what to do.

And of course the shiny wrapper distracts him, as he bats at it curiously. It's such a simple, silly, childish thing, not even a proper toy. But was satisfying in the noises it makes as he bats at it with his paws. He rolls over onto his back, batting at the wrapper in Sasara's fingers, the bead bracelet shifting with the movement.]

[ How cute! Sasara keeps rolling the wrapper between his fingers to make a little noise. And the way it reacts, there's nothing to make him think this isn't just a regular little kitten. The thought does cross his mind that if it's abandoned in the street he oughta do something, but that's when the bracelet on its leg catches his eye. ]

Huh? [ Ahem! He's seen cats with a little collar and bell around, but putting a bracelet on one ain't regular, especially since it's staying on. He stops, still holding the paper for the kitten to bat at, but not moving it around. ]

Whatcha got there? [ Sasara looks closely, and he talks like he might be having a real conversation with that cat, but it ain't like he's expecting it to talk back. That way, he might just arrive at his own conclusion. ] It ain't that I know anyone with a missing cat around, but ya gotta be someone's, yeah?

[If he had to say he was someone's. It'd be Tohru. But he also isn't sure on coming out and saying that or anything. If this guy thinks Kyo is some lost pet would he be left alone still to get back home? He isn't sure. He pauses in batting the paper then, wondering what to do. A cat wouldn't be nodding in confirmation or anything. These situations were why he hated transforming in public. And this time Tohru isn't right there with him to help out in carrying him home or anything. He just has to try figure it himself.

He pauses, glancing up at Sasara with his tail still shifting slowly side to side as he considers, head tilted.]

Ah-hah... not that ya gotta say so.

[ Or that a cat could. Then again, if he nodded his little head, Sasara might get a clue. Of course he's trying to be helpful here, so what to do? He's thinking out loud. ] Teh! I oughta ask Rosho what to do.

[ But not exactly meaning to elaborate on it. It's like he's letting himself step into a staring contest with the kitten, while his tail sways rhythmically. Even though he doesn't conclude on it out loud, involving someone with animal magic seems like the straightest idea, ya see!? Thus, Sasara just goes for it.

He reaches forward, still while close to the ground, aiming to catch Kyo just like that. ]

[Rosho? Who was that? Probably one of this guys friends here? Kyo hasn't exactly met everyone, all the locals or all of the others like him from other worlds that were pulled in here and all. But he. Certainly doesn't seem too keen on it, in starting when the other suddenly reaches forwards. As if glaring at the other uncertainly and trying to back a little, not that he has the most space given his little hiding spot here he had been keeping to while figuring what to do next.]

[ Rosho is someone who might be helpful, at the very least, Sasara figures. Whether that should prove to be, though, is more so a matter of if he's home at all. A little twinge on his conscience comes from backing the little guy here into a corner and the thought that his catty familiar wouldn't approve either—he's got claws!

It's confidence that fuels him, though, and the intent to help a lost little cat, when he feels fur at his fingertips. ]

Gotcha!

[ Even if he does, though, whether he'll come out of this without a scratch depends on how feisty Cat-Kyo is. It's not just Sasara's hands... full of pride in his victory, he ends up holding it at paw-length to his face. ]

[Kyo is well aware of his claws. But he doesn't really want to actually scratch the guy and hurt him. He protests, yowling and squirming as he's held up, as if trying to either push up out of his hands or trying to wriggle to get dropped down to escape. If that's possible, depending on how well that Sasara has a hold of him anyway. He is certainly trying to wriggle free. And he isn't being quiet about his displeasure on being caught like this.]

Uh, do you need any help?

[ because it looks like someone is going way too high up to be comfortable. he watched for a bit, hidden in plain sight, before realizing that maybe, just maybe, he needed help. ]

If you don't, I get it.

I -- maybe? I'm not scared of heights or anything. I just. Can't really seem to be able to control this exactly.

[And that is the more concerning factor here. At least. For Kyo. He's used enough to heights but that's usually with him being perched on a roof or up in a tree. That he could get to or get down from himself. This was. New. Kinda disconcerting at least initially in him figuring this out. As the bubbles keep emitting and keep raising him higher.]

Well is it Kinetic magic, or did you drink that fizzy drink that people have been getting?

[ because if it was kinetic magic, naoto would have a completely different answer. he hums as he watches kyo go higher and higher, which sets a bit of panic into him. ] Hopefully it's magic....

Kinetic? No. Mine is -- blood. And the animal thing.

[So. No, not the kinetic magic. Kyo's stuck with magic similar to what he was dealing with at home with the zodiac curse but also the association with blood with his beads as the Cat in that being what stops his transformation to his True Form. Kyo reaches and latches onto one of the trees nearby in at least wanting something solid to hold to and not get too high up at least.]

Blood and animal magic? Huh, that's kinda cool. I have blood magic too. [ blood is all too familiar for him-- with so much tragedy in his life, it's no surprise that he had been given the magic to control it. ]

But doesn't solve your problem, so... [ Naoto notes how he's grabbing onto the tree, and starts scaling it just enough to reach out his hand. ] Grab on. I'll bring you down.

I only got here pretty recently so I'm still figuring things in learning about this magic stuff.

[More the blood magic than animal magic. But Kyo isn't exactly coming out and telling everyone about the zodiac curse, so. He's not openly going to admit that to Naoto. He tries to shift down and reach for the other's hand, though it might take a bit of effort to do so in lowering himself as he tries to sort of scale down the tree to do it. But he does manage it. Somehow.]

[ once kyo's hand is in naoto's, he begins the process of bringing him down to the ground. he may not have the strength he normally has, but it's still not too much effort for the teenager. ]

Magic's not too hard. As long as you get practice and experiment, you get the hang of it super quick. If you need someone to teach you about blood, for example, I can help with that.

[Kyo thanks the other, mindful in using the hand without the beads to grab Naoto's. While things may be different here, he hasn't braved removing the beads yet and still doesn't want to risk it especially in public. He sighs, running a hand through his mop of red hair as he sits on the ground once the other helps him back down.]

Not touching whatever that stuff was again. But ah, yeah. The animal magic isn't too bad. But the blood magic....

[He's still figuring that. Still so scared and nervous about it. His gaze shifts to the beads at his wrist for a moment.]

Not sure how to handle it?

[ Naoto knew that feeling all too well. It was the same fear he had back when he was starting, way back in his home world. it felt like such a long time ago, that it was starting to become blurry. ]

If you need someone to help with that, I can do that. You can say I've got too much experience with it.

Y-yeah. It -- you could help?

[He's not sure if he wants to ask on what the other means by having too much experience with blood and all. But Kyo does figure the better to learn to control it at least. Rather than accidentally overdoing it or something and passing out. He's just not as keen, as used to this sort of ability is all. So of course he's nervous. Unsure about it. Especially around Tohru.]

I can. [ naoto wouldn't stray from helping people with blood magic-- he understood the fears of running out, or even fainting due to overuse. he decides he might as well offer to those who didn't know, given as this knowledge seems to be few and far between. ]

Ah, forgot to introduce myself. I'm Naoto Kurogane.

Naoto. Right. I'm Kyo. Kyo Sohma.

[He answers in introducing himself in return. This was kind of awkward with meeting like this but. Well. However they met, they should at least give each other a name to go off of. Especially if this guy was offering to help Kyo figure his blood magic like this and all. He might remain holding to one of the lower branches of the tree, or Naoto's arm for a bit just in making sure he won't float off like that again.]

Newer here in comparison to most, I guess.

he very much notices the way kyo is still grabbing onto something, but he understood as to why he was doing it. must be scary, floating away like that. ]

Well, that's saying something-- I've been here almost a year.

A year? I've only been here a few months, so I'm still figuring things. I mean. What to do, besides school in trying to figure this magic nonsense.

[Even if he doesn't like it. He needs to be able to control it at least. Kyo figures that seems the safest, anyway. Which is why something like this, that he also couldn't control, put him a little on edge.]

I don't mind heights. I'm often climbing on the roofs back home or up trees. Get some peace and quiet. Or try to. But this -- I couldn't even control how high I was going or anything.

[ he nods. ] I kinda gave up on school, so I got to figuring out magic all on my own. No shame in going your own route.

[ ah, that makes sense. ] Yeah, I can understand that being scary. 'M glad we got that fixed, though.

Yeah, school isn't for everyone. I'd be glad to be rid of it if I had any say.

[Still. As long as he is in school back home, he has that time to spend with Tohru. To be free. Before being locked away. Not that he is about to go into that. The longer he spends seeming to be okay on the ground the more he seems to relax at least, in releasing his grip. Seeing if he will float back up.]

I couldn't agree more. One year without school already and it's been the best!

[ it let him work on himself as a person, even if it had taken a long time to get started. but he was determined! ]

I know there is a school here but it's not like back home. The one here is more focused on figuring our magic and all. Rather than English and Maths and such. Which is okay, better I guess. I prefer it. Tohru doesn't want to get rusty though so we are kinda trying to study ourselves as well.

[Kyo doesn't mind so much either way but he knows school is important to her. And this way he doesn't get rusty either and can help her out if she needs it.]

Glad I don't have someone like that here for now... At least, not if my master comes around. [ yes, raquel was definitely not the school type, but he knew if she caught wind of him not going... it wasn't going to end well. ]

But hey, at least magic gets easier with practice, and if going to that school helps, I say go. Beats trying to figure out the magic on your own.

Heh. Shishou would probably just be glad I wasn't getting rusty. That I'm not running around picking fights with everyone here or whatever. That I'm trying to figure this all out at least.

[It's progress. Huge progress in how he initially had that breakdown a while ago in fleeing to the mountains not wanting to deal with anyone. He's talking to people here, sort of making connections or so.]

You, the fighty type...? [ naoto had to take a good look at him. ] .... You don't look it.

[ it wasn't an insult or anything, just an observation. naoto is pleasantly surprised. ] But hey, it's always a good thing to take a step back. Can't be running 200% all the time, and it's clear you're doing better.

I've trained with Shishou back home for years! Ever since he took me in back then. I'm not -- maybe not the best with it. But I'm getting there!

[Kagura still terrifies him. And he still has yet to defeat Yuki. He's far from the only fighter in their family, even if just involving martial arts, no weapons or anything. Kyo doesn't take offense, given he isn't exactly the most buff or anything. For all that he trains a lot, including with his weights.]

Still, yeah. I'm. Trying. Definitely less hot-headed than I was.

[He probably always would be to some degree, but over time he is maturing and mellowing out a lot. Especially compared to how he was initially when Tohru moved in with them and all.]
